About Holter ECG

After the appointment is scheduled, the Holter monitor will be fitted at your chosen address or at our clinic. A medical professional will place the electrodes (sensors) on your chest in a precise, standardized order. The electrodes are connected to the device (approximately the size of a bar of soap), and the recording then begins. Once recording has started, the wires can be hidden under your clothing, and the device can be secured with a strap around the neck or worn on a belt. The monitor must be worn throughout the entire recording period. After the recording begins, you may return to your normal daily activities. You will receive a form in which you will record your activities. If you experience any symptoms (such as palpitations, skipped beats, dizziness, chest pain, etc.), be sure to note them on the form. It is important to record both the activity and the exact time it took place. After the device is removed, a cardiologist will review and interpret the results.

Precautions

If you are taking any medications, please inform us in advance.

For optimal recording quality, the skin on your chest should be clean, dry, and free of creams, lotions, powder, or other products. After the device is fitted and the recording begins, the area around the electrodes must not get wet, so it is recommended to shower before the monitoring starts.

Do not wet the device or the electrode area. Showering, bathing, or swimming is not allowed while wearing the monitor.

The device may be affected by other electronic equipment. During the recording period, keep your mobile phone at least 15 cm away from the monitor and avoid close contact with magnets, electric shavers, electric toothbrushes, and microwave ovens.
